In Buzz, Food & Drink by Simon

Looking for a clucking good time this weekend? Grab your classy carnivore friend and prepare to raise a toast, and a drumstick too, to a great cause.

The Kendall College Trust is putting on its third annual Fried Chicken & Champagne Fest on Saturday. The event will bring together a dozen of the city’s best chef’s to showcase their take on fried chicken. Participating chefs include Ryan McCaskey of Acadia, Christine Cikowski and Josh Kulp of Honey Butter Fried Chicken and the winners of the last two years’ People’s Choice Award, Beverly Kim who appeared on Top Chef, and many other of Chicago’s best culinary minds.

Need something to wash it all down with? They’ve got you covered.

Kevin Rebhan of Pops for Champagne has curated an impressive VIP lounge with an array of premium Moët Hennessy Champagnes to sip and swirl.

Besides serving up some finger-licking good food and bubbles, the event raises money for the Kendall College Trust with all proceeds benefiting Kendall College student scholarship funds and the Kendall College Trust Culinary Camp for children in undeserved communities in Chicago.

Tickets start at just $85 with VIP tickets available for $195.

Fried chicken, Champagne and charity. Name a more iconic trio…we’ll wait.
