Big wine fan, but don’t want to drive all the way to Malibu to participate in a tasting? Want a great view of Los Angeles, while sipping delicious wine? Looking for a relaxing outing with family or friends on a Friday night? Then Barnsdall Park’s Friday Night Wine Tasting is an event you should be checking out.
How does it work?
“Unwind and enjoy beautiful Barnsdall Park as the sun is setting from the gated green of the West Lawn of the historic Hollyhock House. For $30, Silverlake Wine will present four selections of boutique, small production, artisan wines from around the globe and you’ll get to take home a limited edition wine glass! Bring a picnic or enjoy food from one of LA’s best food trucks. Local artisanal food purveyor SayCheese will be offering guests an array of picnic baskets, available for pre-order. With the recent reopening of Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Hollyhock House, one of the nice new features of this year’s fundraiser will be docent-led tours of the house for an additional $12. Friday Night Wine Tastings have been featured in LA Magazine, LA Times, LA Weekly, LA Daily News, LAist and KCRW.
All profits from the wine tastings benefit Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects, such as Free Sunday Art Classes for children and families in the community, as well as capital projects like the Monument Sign.”
Our experience
This past Friday night, FestivalsForLife took part in the Friday Night Wine tasting. The event is in its seventh season, and they’ve got all the logistics down to a tee. We drove to Barnsdall Park a little after 5:30pm. We were easily able to find a parking spot on the hill leading up to the park. We made sure to bring a picnic basket and some snacks, but soon realized that they also had the option to purchase your own “Cheese Picnic Baskets” in advance that you could pick up upon entrance.
They have a fenced in area where the wine tasting event takes place. Inside you’ll find lots of friends and families picnicking on the green grass sharing meals and sipping wine.
Every participant received a wristband that allowed them to receive a stylish wine glass and four different pours of delicious wine- a white, a rose, and two reds. The bar tenders were very generous with their pours, and also provided you with a detailed background about each wine.
We were able to then go enjoy our wine, while socializing with everyone around us. In addition to the first-class wine, there was also a DJ playing the whole time that added to the great ambience of the event. The view on top of the hill was also magnificent, as one could see out onto Los Angeles including a stunning view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory. To make it even better, the sun began to set providing even prettier views, and a cooler, more comfortable temperature. And after the event, if you’re looking for more excitement,
slot gacor terpercaya offers the thrill of big wins, adding an extra layer of fun to your day!
Overall
Barnsdall Park’s Friday Night Wine Tasting was such a fun event to partake in. It’s a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. It is a great event to socialize with friends in a casual atmosphere or even bring the entire family to join as well. It is sure to be a relaxing, but fun night for everyone. There is one more tasting this season on September 4th, so make sure to grab your tickets soon, before they run out. Otherwise, you’ll have to wait until next season to try it out! Tickets can be purchased online and do sell out quickly
