As Festival season nears even closer, we thought we’d help prepare you in advance. There is nothing worse than getting to the festival, and realizing you forgot to pack something. That’s why we created this list of 8 essential items to pack to enhance your festival experience. If you’re also interested in hunting, you can buy complete AR15 rifles
8) CamelBak or Fannypack
Being out in the sun all day dancing is a recipe for dehydration. Okay, so I’ll bring a water bottle! But wait, now I have to carry this water bottle from concert to concert. Even worse, I have to hold it while I’m dancing (if you’re anything like me, you definitely need both hands free to get your dance on). Even worse, I have to keep leaving the show to fill up my water bottle; it only holds so much. Okay… maybe this water bottle idea isn’t the best plan after all. This leads us to our first essential, the CamelBak. The Camelbak literally only has two purposes in life- hiking/biking and music festivals. It is the perfect contraption to keep you hydrated for hours. You are able to hold plenty of water and you have both hands free to dance! Could it get any better?! Yes! A camelBak also works as a small backpack to hold any essentials you bring to the shows or as a pillow if you decide to take a quick nap in the grass. Additionally, you instantly become the most popular person among your non-CamelBak friends who will all want to mooch off your water supply. If carrying a CamelBak isn’t your thing, than I at least suggest a fanny pack. This is especially popular among the ladies. Music Festivals are the only place where fanny packs instantly become back in style. However, if you decided to go with the fanny back, I suggest you try to convince your buddy to wear a CamelBak!
7) Body Paint
Everyone you see at festivals will have their own unique outfits, so why not customize your skin as well! Body and face paint are the perfect ways to do so. After about 5th grade, it wasn’t cool to get your face painted anymore at your little cousin’s birthday party. Well, those rules don’t apply at festivals. Have fun with it, and bring out your inner artist. Painting each other also provides a fun pastime for your group at your campsite before going into the shows. A little word of advice: as soon as I see the paint is coming out, I always try to sit next to the most artistic girl in the group!
6) VisorShades – Sunglasses with a visor.
Stand out from the crowd with these colorful visor glasses. We promis that you will be a festival crowd favorite with this crazy, wacky, and fun item! Beware that everyone will be talking about your awesome shades.
5) Solar Phone Charger
Phones can be essential to your festival experience. Whether you are taking photos, trying to meet up with friends, or checking the lineup, your phone comes in handy constantly. The problem is most people forget how fast your phone dies when you are using it so often. To make matters worse, outlets are never easy to find around the festival grounds, besides, no one wants to waste their time standing by an outlet recharging. That is why we suggest getting a solar phone charger. These allow you to recharge at your convenience, and the best part is that you don’t have to worry about the charger running out, since it runs on sunlight. Having a phone charger also allows you to use your phone more often without worrying about its battery.
4) Hand Sanitizer
You most likely won’t be showering, and you’ll feel free pretty dirty throughout the festival. You don’t always find good wash stations to rinse your hands off. It’s very common to be laying on the ground/dirt relaxing at different points in your day. As you can imagine, germs are down with this lifestyle. The last thing you want to do at a music festival though is get sick. Thus, we suggest carry some hand sanitizer around to wash your hands every so often. It fits perfectly into your CamelBak!
3) Flashlight
You get back from an amazing night and can’t stop talking about how great that last act was. You finally find your campsite, and decide its time to change into something more comfy and maybe brush your teeth. Sounds easy, right? Not so much when you consider that fact that it is pitch black inside your tent. Now the task of finding a comfy shirt and a toothbrush becomes a whole ordeal. That’s why we suggest keeping a flashlight around your campsite. Some of my favorites are the ones that double as lanterns, so you can also use it to light up the area as everyone sits and chills. I also suggest keeping one in your tent in case you need to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.
2) Ear Plugs
There is no reason you shouldn’t bring earplugs. They take up no room at all, and are easy to get. In fact, it is becoming more and more common for festivals to give them out free at the festival. Ear plugs serve more then one purpose. First, if you are one of those people that likes to get right up next to the stage besides the huge speaker then your ears will thank you later on if you put some ear plugs in. You’ll still be able to hear everything, you just won’t kill your eardrums. Two, ear plugs tremendously help with sleeping. If you don’t get a good nights sleep, you’re going to have a rough time the following morning. The thing with music festivals, is the campground never gets completely quiet at night. Either people will keep walking by your tent talking or you got lucky and pitched your tent next to the big campsite that parties and plays music all night long. Having ear plugs can be the difference between being rested and staying up all night in your sleeping bag.
1) Head Massager
The most important item you need to remember to pack wasn’t even a toss up. It is hands down a HEAD MASSAGER! This weird octopus on a handle looking contraption is actually one of the best creations ever made by man. It is simple to use, just place on your head and move up and down. It feels even better when someone else does it for you. After a long tiring day, nothing feels better. Don’t believe me? Are you thinking how in the world can this be the most essential item I need to pack? Well just trust me. Bring a head massager to your next festival and I guarantee you won’t regret it.
