An exclusive F4L recap of Atlanta Film Festival 2016

In Uncategorized by Chavon

This year the Atlanta Film festival celebrated its 40th year.  The recently wrapped festival was packed with amazing programming and events.  Offering a healthy diversity in subject matter, the films shown at this years festival were all unique in their own way – including special celebratory screenings of film favorites such as Fried Green Tomatoes.  With 151 films representing 37 countries the Academy Award qualifying festival provided a myriad of genres for festival goers to choose from. There were also events, workshops, and parties that drew people of all backgrounds together for fellowship in art.  One of our favorite non-screening events during the festival this year was the SOUND + VISION event with New Orleans Queen Diva of Bounce, Big Freedia. Concluding its 5th year, the SOUND + VISION platform showcases a variety of art installations, music, and experimental film covering an eclectic range of topics. This year the event was held at the beautiful Ponce City Market.
