The 10 year anniversary of Movement festival in Detroit is approaching, and they finally let us in on the whole list of artists that will be performing this May on the three-day Memorial Day weekend in the city where Techno was born.
The line-up is stacked with all sorts of DJ heavy hitters, ranging from all over the world. Kraftwerk is making their first Movement appearance, causing quite the stir about their set.
Other artists include DJs that are Detroit home based and some that are coming back for festivities. Names like Art Department, J. Philip, Green Velvet and Claude Von Stroke, Four Tet, Carl Craig, MODSKELETOR, Caribou, What So Not and many more.
Not to mention the Movement after parties- the tons and tons of after parties. There are venues like Bert’s Warehouse, Old Miami, TV Lounge and others that keep the party rolling the whole weekend. Detroit loves loves loves their techno and Movement gives a perfect excuse to come experience it like Detroit loves it.
The streets of Detroit fill up with those fans coming from all over the world for the music. Hart Plaza is where the festival takes place right at the edge of the water on the Detroit river.
The river is turquoise and Canada is right across the river, and we bet they can hear us get down.
This isn’t a camping festival, this is in the heart of Detroit so lodging is required somewhere during the fest, if you are feeling drawn to come check it out. The vibes are strong and it will be a wild and fun event brimming with great DJs, and a great celebration of Techno and it’s birthplace here in the heart of the mid-west, Detroit.
