A release date of April 22nd, 2016 was set for the biopic about Nina Simone – the trailer was released as well.
There has been much controversy surrounding the film; the casting of Zoey Saldana portraying the High Priestess of Soul has disappointed and even offended many – including the official estate of Ms.Simone.
Biopic drama aside there is no question – Nina Simone was a musical force. Certainly before her time and undeniably talented the soulful siren haunts us through her timeless tunes. Yes, yes…we heart Nina.
