This year marks Nashville’s first ever SoundHarvest Music Festival. The event will take place at Centennial Park with the Parthenon as it’s backdrop. National, regional and local bands will be showcased to offer a variety of music with a focus on contemporary/alternative rock.
“We’re excited to bring something new to Nashville. Our idea was to fill in the gap in the music scene. Nashville has country music, and there’s Live On The Green, but we really wanted to bring in rock music,” said festival director Monica Copciac.
This festival isn’t just about the music. It’s also about some really awesome local beer, food and art. If that’s not enough to grab your interest, the festival is placing an emphasis on local non-profits. Thistle Farms and The Cumberland River Compact will be given stage time to remind us that Nashville is a community that prides itself on giving back.
“We always wanted this to be a community event. Nashville is growing so quickly and has so much to offer. We have some good national brands who are teaming up with us, but we do want Nashville to embrace this as their festival,” said Copciac.
I mean, this is Music City. It’s about time we got ourselves a new music festival. And with people like Monica Copciac helping to create this event, I think we’re all in for a good time.
“SoundHarvest isn’t just about throwing people in a field and throwing some bands on a stage. We’re going to have some [additional elements such as] art installations that I think are going to create an awesome vibe. I can’t wait to share it with people,” said Copiac.
Well we can’t wait to share it with you, Monica. And F4L can’t wait to share it with all the festival-goers! So be sure to get your tickets while you still can!
