Brunch

This past Sunday, LA Weekly presented one of the most unique events you’ll find- Brunch At The Races. Brunch At The Races featured signature brunch bites from 29 of Los Angeles’s most iconic breakfast and brunch spots. However, this event did not take place at just another random venue, but at the Santa Anita Race Track.

With brunch being such a big event in today’s world, this was the perfect place to see some of Los Angeles’ best brunch offerings. All the food was delicious, but we had a couple of favorites.

Superba Food + Bread– Next time we are in need of some brunch, Superba Food + Bread will be high on our list. They were serving their warm bread covered in cinnamon, similar to a donut hole, but tasting way better. It was served over their cream like coffee, which resulted in a pairing made in heaven. Not only were the little samples adorable, but they tasted superb!

Poppy + Rose– At the Poppy + Rose tent, you could find a huge line. Not a huge surprise once you tried the buttermilk fried chicken biscuit they were serving. This delcious treat would be great for any meal of the day. The fried chicken wrapped around the two perfectly made biscuits made for the perfect little sandwich.

Deep Eddy Vodka– On such a hot day, the Deep Eddy Vodka tent was serving up some very refreshing drinks. With so many vodka flavors from lemon, sweet tea, and more, they had multiple choices of cocktails to choose from. Just about everyone was enjoying one of these cocktails as they walked around the park.

McConnells Fine Ice Creams– This Santa Barbara started creamery has maybe the best ice cream we have ever tried. This is by no means an exaggeration, you got to go in and try a scoop. In particular, their salted caramel flavor was to die for!

To compliment your full stomach, the event also had live music playing the whole time. Sunny weather, brunch food everywhere, unlimited drinks, and music- does it get any better!

Along with all the amazing food, guests were able to take in a horse race while indulging in their favorite brunch dishes. This was the perfect event to attract those that had never been to a horse race before to the track. There was even booths set up to teach you how to gamble on the different races. The location of the track in Santa Anita was also surprisingly beautiful with mountains in the background and well maintained lawns and gardens everywhere you looked.
