So many folks around the Midwest and beyond flock to Electric Forest for their woodland extravaganza. The term is so common place that it’s been shortened in many cases to, “Forest,” or “EF” with no question of what is being spoken about.
This year is no different, with the tickets to the event selling out in a little more than two weeks at their release in December. The evolution of this festival is undeniable, and some names stay the same as it began in Rothbury with the kickers of the festival still being String Cheese Incident, and their live and energetic sets.

The line-up this year was released with the help of fans with #Ef2016REVEAL. Certain fans were mailed a sealed envelope from Electric Forest staff to announce the artist’s name that was sealed inside. Facebook and Twitter lit up with the announcements and excitement having the appeal of attendee involvement from the very beginning.
The line-up is stacked with huge names, and smaller names, in broad ranging categories, ensuring the happiness of all festival goers. Bassnectar, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Major Lazer, Fetty Wap, Bonobo and too many others to list are on the docket for an amazing time at forest this year.
EF spares no expense to make the forest a playground for the mind, soul and spirit. Photos only show a certain perspective, and for this reporter it will be a first time. Not a first time for most of the acts or the grounds because the Michigan regional Burn is there, called Lakes of Fire. A first time for Electric Forest festival which has been spouted full of good words.
