On February 22nd, 2017 whiskey lovers from all across Los Angeles gathered at the historic LaBrea Tar Pits and Museum for Los Angeles Magazine’s 2nd annual Whiskey Festival. Participants were able to bring their palette on an exploration as they sampled everything whiskey- from some of the hottest brands on the market to new ones, there was a huge range to sip on.
Experts from distinguished and celebrated brands such as Angel’s Envy Copper Lounge, Bruichladdich, Buffalo Trace, Bushmills Whiskey, Duncan Taylor, Four Roses Bourbon, Greenbar Distillery, Jura Whisky, Kikori Whiskey, Old Forester, Rebel Yell Bourbon, Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, Teeling Whiskey, WhistlePig Whiskey, Woodford Reserve, and more were present to pour your drink and answer all your questions.
While everyone’s glasses were filled, the event offered much more! If you got hungry, it wasn’t a problem, because you were able to indulge in delicious curated menus of fine foods provided by Tres LA. There was also multiple stages of live music jamming out throughout the duration of the festivities. Attendees also were able to enjoy complimentary hand rolled cigars and shoe shines. What a combo!
Overall, Los Angeles Magazine’s 2nd annual Whiskey Festival was a hit! It was expertly produced and all participants were having a wonderful time. Our favorite three pours of the night came from Old Forester, Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey, and WhistlePig. The LaBrea Tar Pits and Museum was a super unique setting for a festival, but we loved the character it added. Make sure to check out Los Angeles Magazine’s future events to stay in the know!
